NAVAL AVIATION OF RUSSIA’S NAVY TO ADOPT SU-30SM MULTIROLE FIGHTERS AND YAK-130 COMBAT TRAINERS

The contract on delivery of the first batches of Su-30SM fighters and Yak-130 combat trainers to the Naval Aviation of Russia’s Navy was signed in December 2013, as Yury Borisov, the Deputy Defence Minister, claimed while summarizing implementation of the State Defence Order.

Irkut Corporation (a UAC member) successfully implements contracts on delivery of Su-30SM multirole fighters and Yak-130 combat trainers, signed in 2011 and 2012. 

In 2012 and 2013, the enterprise implemented obligations envisaged in the State Defence Order completely and on time. 

In 2013, Irkut Corporation delivered more than 30 Su-30SM multirole fighters and Yak-130 combat trainers to the Russia’s Ministry of Defence. Flight and support personnel of combat units and training centers of Russia’s Air Force successfully master newly acquired aircraft with the assistance of Irkut Corporation specialists. The first group of pilot trainees has completed Yak-130 training course. Su-30SM fighters have been deployed at Domna airbase, in Zabaykaliye province.  

 “We need to draft the assured volume of order for Irkutsk Aviation Plant till the end of the State Weaponry Programme 2020”, - claimed Yury Borisov, while visiting Irkutsk Aviation Plant, the affiliate of Irkut Corporation in August 2013.
