RUSSIA’S DEFENCE MINISTRY AND IRKUT CORPORATION HAVE SIGNED THE CONTRACT FOR DELIVERY OF SU-30SM FIGHTERS FOR RUSSIA’S NAVY

According to PR and Information Department Of Russia’s Defence Ministry, Yury Borisov, the Deputy Defence Minister, and Oleg Demchenko, the President of Irkut Corporation (a UAC member) in the prescriptive of Denis Manturov, the Minister of Industry and Trade, signed the contract for delivery of seven Su-30MK multirole fighters and support materiel.

The contract was signed during 10-th International Exhibition of Hydroaviation in Gelendjik.

Yuri Borisov said, that Ministry of Defence ordered the second batch of Su-30SM multirole fighters to enhance combat capabilities of Russia’s Navy. 

“These up-to-date aircraft capable of engaging aerial, sea-surface, and ground targets, will allow significantly enhance combat capabilities of Naval Aviation”, - the Deputy Defence Minister said.

In July 2014, Russia’s Naval Aviation put into service first three Su-30MK fighters manufactured in accordance with the five-aircraft contract signed at the end of 2013.

Oleg Demchenko noted that Irkut Corporation performs the State Defence Order contracts on delivery of high-quality Su-30SM fighters and Yak-130 trainers to the Russia’s Defence Ministry in due course.
